Early on in his recruitment, Holmes had some non-verbal contact with Northwestern, but he is still hoping to get in contact with the Wildcat coaches.
"I'm trying to get linked up there to contact people," Holmes said. "I don't have any contacts with them."
But Holmes (5'8, 175-lb) said he is still interested in Northwestern for their great academic prestige, something which is very important to him.
"I know they're a really good academic school," said Holmes. "I think academics come before football."
And while Holmes tries to get in contact with the Northwestern coaches, he is hoping to learn more about the university.
Holmes said Northwestern and any school is still a possibility at this point, as he waits for offers to come in.
"My options are still open to get an offer and play college football," he said.
For the rest of the spring, Holmes is planning on visiting many schools that are showing interest.
