Horne Waiting For NU Offer

After visiting Northwestern yesterday, 2012 running back Marcus Horne left Evanston without an offer, but was happy with conversations he had with the coaches and is confident that he will receive an offer from the Wildcats.

"I got to sit down with Coach Fitz one on one," he said. "They have two other guys offered that haven't committed, but they have 20-plus offers. Coach McPherson told me between me and another guy, he thinks I'm going to get the offer.

"Coach Fitzgerald told me to be a little more patient and wait for an offer," he said.

Currently, Horne, a Milwaukee product, holds offers from North Dakota State and Central Michigan. However, he previously told PurpleWildcats.com that his top three are Northwestern, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State.

Since he still doesn't have all the offers he would like, Horne doesn't know when he plans to commit to a school.

"I haven't decided on that," he said. "Whenever me and my family decide what school is right."

While Horne hasn't picked a favorite, he came away from Evanston impressed on Friday.

"It was a great visit," he said.
