Fitzpatrick Enjoys NU Visit

After receiving interest from Northwestern's coaches, 2012 long snapper Chris Fitzpatrick braved the elements to attend the Wildcats' annual spring game on Saturday. And despite the wind, rain, and cold, the Kentucky native enjoyed his time in Evanston.

"It's usually about in the 60's in Kentucky so that was a big difference," he said. "It went good. I had a great time.

While at the scrimmage, Fitzpatrick was able to talk to the coaches and see the facilities that NU has to offer. He was also given a campus tour and says he enjoyed the full package.

"After the game I went on the field and I talked with Coach Fitzgerald for a little bit and Coach Fitzgerald game me a tour around the campus," he said. "I thought the campus was great. I really like the location."

In addition to Northwestern, Fitzpatrick is considering Kentucky, Boston College, LSU, Western Kentucky, and Purdue, and has visited the latter three. He said NU compared well with his other three visits.

"They were pretty similar, I thought," he said, adding that he has yet to choose a favorite school.

Fitzpatrick also hasn't decided when he will commit, but plans to wait and survey his options.

"I'm just going to give it some time and wait and see which schools are offering," he said.

So far, Fitzpatrick has no offers. However, he feels that an offer could come from Northwestern. That is a real possibility after the Wildcats' previously offered long snapper, Scott Daly, committed to Notre Dame today.

"Yeah, I think I feel pretty good [about if an offer will come]," he said. "We'll see how it goes."
