Kendall Langford: Name quickly being noticed

Petersburg (VA) defensive end Kendall Langford finished his junior season with 12 sacks and first team All-District honors.

He just might be on the Wildcats radar...

However, the 6-foot-6, 231 pounder is not resting on last year to earn offers.

"I am going to the (Blacksburg) Nike camp, and I really want to show up. I run a 4.6 40, and I think that is where I will make a big impact," he says. "What I want in a school is a good surrounding, good sports teams, and good academics. I am not sure about my major yet, but I want to do something with computers."

Several schools appear to offer just that, at least in the eyes of Langford.

"Virginia Tech, Michigan, Northwestern, Clemson, and Boston College are my top five schools. I like Virginia Tech so far; I would say they are number one. Clemson is sounding really good too, so who knows."

The biggest question is who offers the big athlete and how long he will stay on the open recruiting market.

]Coach Roy: For Wildcat fans - is he on the NU radar? Randy likes speed and this guy has it, and at 6-6, 231 is he an NU linebacker or a "bulked up" redshirt DE?

If he came to NU today, at his present size, you 'd have to fight Fitz for his services....Wow, at 6-6, 4.6 MLB...something you dream about.]
