Northwestern In The Mix For Church

2012 Brother Rice (MI) running back Devin Church has been making noise on the recruiting trail over the past few months. The 5'8, 175 pound back has picked up recent offers from Boston College, Toledo, and Bowling Green, and is hoping to soon add Northwestern to the list.

While he had not received an offer from the ‘Cats, he has been in contact with the coaching staff, and plans on going to a Northwestern camp.

"I talk to (Northwestern running backs coach) Matt McPherson pretty often," said Devin Church. "Recently I haven't been talking to him every day, but time to time on Facebook. I am probably going to go out to their camp."

Church has not narrowed his list at all, and is keeping his options open. He does, however, know what he is looking for in potential schools.

"Coaching staff, coaching staff, coaching staff." Church said. "Academics is [also] very important. [It is] the top thing you look for when your looking at these colleges."

The running back also wants a school who can continue to develop him as a player, and says that his ultimate dream is one day playing in the NFL. Devin has visited the three aforementioned schools that have offered him, as well as Michigan State, who has been recently showing interest, on April 16th. He is also planning a visit to Cincinnati and Michigan.

Thus far, Church has not set a timetable for his decision, but if he gets an offer from Northwestern, the Wildcats will certainly be in the mix.
