Comments - Dery is a fine athlete that could be a player on either side of the ball at the next level. Played quarterback, tight end and linebacker as a sophomore. Dery was used as a linebacker, tight end and as a safety during his junior season.
Dery is being recruited as a tight end. Dow has a run orientated offense and Dery didn't have the huge numbers as other tight end prospects but he did manage 10 receptions and two touchdowns on the season.
On the defensive side of the ball, Dery had 40 solo tackles and made several big plays in the defensive backfield.
"I grew up a huge (Michigan State) Spartans fans," said Derry. "I also like Northwestern a lot right now. Ohio State, Iowa, Western Michigan and Central Michigan are my other favorites."
Dery says he'll camp at Iowa this summer. He also letters in basketball and track.
