Henry Narrowing Options

Traveon Henry (Fort Lauderdale, FL) has begun to narrow down his search for schools. So far, Northwestern has continued to make the cut.

Henry visited Northwestern in the spring while on a trip with his basketball team. The running back from Pine Crest High School had an extremely positive reaction to Northwestern.

"It was a really nice visit," Henry said. "Coach Long took me around, I got to have a look at the campus, and I met Coach Fitzgerald, who is a really cool guy."

Henry has offers from multiple schools, including Northwestern, and said the Wildcats' currently sit close to the top.

"They're definitely in my top-10," Henry said. "Hopefully I can have it narrowed down to my top-5 by the time school starts in the beginning of September, that's my plan right now."

Henry said Northwestern has "a good shot" to make it in the top-5 when he narrows down his selection.

Asked what he likes about Northwestern, Henry responded that the school has a lot of positive factors going for it.

"I really like the location. It's an urban area but not too far from city," he said. "I like that academic prowess is unbelievable there, those two things really stand out. And the coaching staff, I can tell they really care about their players."

Henry also said he liked that Northwestern was in the Big Ten, a power conference with a solid schedule.

"The Big Ten is a great conference," Henry said. "They produce a lot of NFL talent in the Big Ten, I'd be playing against some great competition."

Henry said he is still figuring things out, and isn't sure yet where he wants to go. For now, he said, Northwestern is still right in the mix of his top options.
