Herman Picks Purdue

Carmel (IN) High School safety Jimmy Herman has committed to Purdue, choosing the Boilermakers over Northwestern, Harvard, and others.

Herman (6-4, 205) informed Scout.com of his decision on Wednesday night.

"I committed to Purdue," Herman said in a text message.

Herman is the Boilermakers' fifth commit of the 2012 class. He also had offers from Northwestern, Harvard, Central Michigan, and Western Michigan.
