Ervilus Set To Visit Evanston

Guito Ervilus has heard all about Northwestern's academics, but doesn't know much else about the school and their football program. He is hoping to change that on his upcoming visit in Evanston.

Ervilus (6-3, 230) received an offer from Northwestern back in the spring, but has not been able to build a relationship with the NU coaching staff and still hasn't seen campus. He will travel to Evanston on August 19th and hopes to take in a few different things while on campus.

"I want to meet the head coach first of all," said Guito Ervilus. "I want a homey-type atmosphere, a good support system, and a place where they take care of athletes. I want to hear about that."

Thus far, Ervilus holds offers from Northwestern, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, South Florida, and others.

Ervilus is hoping to find a school with the right mix of academics and athletics.

"I'm looking for a school that has both education and football," he said. "Football doesn't go on forever."

Throughout his recruitment, Ervilus has attracted plenty of attention because of his versatility. He plays wide receiver, tight end, running back, defensive end, and linebacker. Ervilus feels he is a better linebacker, but added, "I'm pretty good at d-end too."

Ervilus is set to make the long trip from Orlando to Evanston, but that distance won't be a problem in his decision-making process. He is just looking for the right feel.

Overall, Ervilus feels Northwestern could be a nice fit, but wants to see more on his visit.

"I think it's a good academic program and it would be good for me to come and play there," Ervilus said.

As a junior, Ervilus finished with 20 catches and three touchdowns on offense. On defense, he had 38 tackles and three sacks.
