Gloston Gets Wildcat Offer

Northwestern became the second Big Ten team to offer a sunshine state standout. On Friday, Orlando outside linebacker Jeremy Gloston received an offer from the Wildcats

"I was really, really excited," Jeremy Gloston said of his new offer from Northwestern. "I was happy because I'm working hard and people are seeing that and interested in me."

Gloston (6-2, 190) also holds a Big Ten offer Illinois and has offers from Washington State, Buffalo, Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, and a few others.

Thus far, Gloston does not have any favorites. He is hoping to explore all options. NU is a school which he hopes to learn more about.

"I don't have any preference right now but I would like to pursue Northwestern more," Gloston said. "I'm not sure yet but I'd like to do an official visit at Northwestern."

While Gloston is sorting through his college options, he knows what to look for in the right school.

He simply said with one word, "academics."

Gloston has been on Northwestern's radar for a while. The NU coaches have kept an eye on him since the summer before his junior season, when he attended their one-day camp. Overall, he thinks highly of the Wildcats and how they operate.

"I went to one of their camps and they seem organized," said Gloston of Northwestern. "They're there for the players and they'll be there for you throughout the season, whatever happens."

An all-around athlete, Gloston has picked up interest as a wide receiver and tight end. Northwestern is recruiting him to be an outside linebacker, which is a priority position for NU. His recruitment started slowly after an injury-plagued sophomore season, but things picked up after a strong junior campaign.

For now, Gloston is taking his time with a decision. He is hoping to set up some official visits in September which will help him in the decision-making process.

"I'm most likely making my decision in October."
