Michigan has taken momentum of the game. The Wolverines overcame a 10-point halftime deficit by scoring 14 points in the third quarter, and added seven more points in the first seconds of the fourth quarter. UM owns a 35-24 lead in the fourth quarter.
Northwestern's offense struggled throughout the entire third quarter, tallying just 17 yards. Dan Persa was intercepted late in the quarter, leaving Michigan inside the five-yard line at the end of the quarter. Michigan running back Michael Shaw would add to the Wolverine lead with a two-yard touchdown run.
The Wildcats' offense had great success in the first half, but had troubles moving the ball in the third quarter. If they hope to rally, the offense needs to regain their rhythm and move the football.
