Sophomore WR To Visit NU

Top 2014 Marist HS WR Nic Weishar is beginning to stand out from the rest. He has two offers, and is closing in on more.

2014 Marist HS (Ill.) WR Nic Weishar might only be a sophomore, but he is already getting plenty of attention on the recruiting trail.

"Northwestern and Illinois have made offers," Weishar said. "Which is really humbling. I keep in touch with the Notre Dame coaches as well."

He continued, "Wisconsin, Oregon, and Vanderbilt have sent letters through my school too."

The 6-foot-5, 200 pound WR prospect has begun taking visits, the most recent to Illinois.

"I visited the University of Illinois Saturday," Weishar said. "And I liked it a lot. The atmosphere of the stadium and everything was amazing."

Weishar has several other visits planned in the next several weeks – including one to Northwestern.

"I've been to Northwestern's campus for a camp over the summer and I liked it a lot also," Weishar said. "I was also told they are getting new facilities in 2014."

He added, "The coaches are all great and I am looking forward to visiting them this weekend the 22nd."

And the weekend after that, Weishar will visit Notre Dame.

"I also attended a camp at Notre Dame," Weishar said. "And their campus is unbelievable. The coaches there were great as well, and I am excited to visit on the 29th."

As Weishar continues his sophomore season at Marist HS (Ill.) he looks to continue showcasing his strengths.

"I think blocking at the wide receiver spot is my biggest strength," Weishar said. "And also using my size to go up and get balls that are thrown high."

And continue heating up the recruiting trail.
