Looking to boost his recruitment, Westerville-South (OH) High School defensive back Jarrod Barnes sent his film to Northwestern, and a list of other schools. After taking a look at the tape, NU coaches were impressed.

Barnes (6-foot-1, 200) was invited to Northwestern to take in its game with the Rice Owls. He was impressed by the experience in Evanston.

"I loved it, it was a great trip," said Barnes. "Before the game, they gave a good presentation. I talked with Coach Fitzgerald and the conditioning coaches."

When the game started, Barnes joined other recruits in the bleachers at Ryan Field, and took in the action.

After the victory, when the team returned to the locker room, Barnes had his highlight of the day. He joined the Wildcats in celebrating the win, and singing the fight song.

"You always watch college football on TV, and you never see the locker room," Barnes said. "It's really cool to see the players, it was good experience."

Barnes did not get to hear any details on a potential scholarship offer, but is hoping that changes. He gave the coaches another copy of his full season highlights.

"(The Northwestern coaches) want to see more and they'll get back to me," said Barnes.

Barnes currently does not hold any scholarship offers, but after sending out copies of his highlight film, he has heard from Northwestern, Georgia, Rutgers, and a number of other schools.
