Doyle Visits Northwestern

Grosse Pointe South (Mich.) junior LB Jack Doyle is hard hitter hearing from many schools and he took his first unofficial visit over the weekend.

Grosse Pointe South linebacker Jack Doyle has had two good varsity seasons, most recently making 2nd team All-Metro East as a junior this season. The hard hitting 6'2, 215-lb prospect has started hearing from colleges, as the mail has been flowing for the last few months.

"I've gotten game invites from Indiana, but I haven't gone to any of those. I've had mail and contact; a bunch from Iowa, Missisissipi State, Nebraska, Michigan State, I think I got a few letters from Penn State. I've gotten some email from Cincinnati, a few from Harvard and NC State."

Over the weekend, Doyle took his first unofficial visit, a trip to Evanston to see the Northwestern Wildcats.

"It was great," he said. "I really liked the campus and the game was great. I got to go on the sideline before the game. I met the coaches and like the way Coach Fitzgerald came off. He seemed like a pretty solid coach with his philosophy and how he handles things. I kind of introduced myself to the linebackers coach and we talked little bit, but I did not talk to Coach Fitzgerald."

With the off-season upon him, Doyle is ready to keep getting better and raise his stock.

"I went to some Max Ex camps and Sound Mind, Sound Body, last year, and I'm going to go to the Northwestern camp this year and I might go to the Michigan one. I don't know what other camps I'll be going to."
