Lambert (6-foot-2, 245), Scout's 12th-rated middle linebacker, is currently focused on football, and putting aside his recruitment for the time being. However, he spent the season making visits to potential schools, and has six favorites.
What does Lambert like about each school?
"The atmosphere, the academics, they all have different academic facilities," said Lambert.
The Wildcats jumped into Lambert's recruitment early in his junior season, and the standout linebacker has built a great relationship with head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
"It's going to be a big part of the process, having a good relationship with him," Lambert said.
Back in October, Lambert visited Evanston for Northwestern's sold-out game with Michigan, and had an enjoyable time on campus.
"It was great, I enjoyed every part of it," Lambert said. "It was better than I thought it would be. The coaches are great people."
During his visit, Lambert got to meet Northwestern's coaches, players, and staff members.
"The people there, they have a lot of great coaches, players, and were determined and focused," Lambert said.
Lambert likes a lot of things that Northwestern has to offer, but one thing stands out the most.
"Definitely the academics," he said. "Being a private school, and having great success in the classroom at that school."
Lambert is finalizing his recruitment, and is getting close to giving his verbal commitment in the coming weeks. He is planning to weigh the positives of each school, before making a decision.
