Wildcats Offer Junior Quarterback

Archbishop Alter HS (OH) junior Malik Zaire is one of the top players in Ohio and coaches are taking notice. Check out what the quarterback has to say about his newest Big Ten offer as well as which schools are his current favorites.

6-foot-1, 190-pound junior Malik Zaire is heating up the recruiting boards. The quarterback already holds offers from Cincinnati, Wisconsin and Ohio State and recently added Northwestern to his list.

"The offer wasn't really a surprise," said Zaire. "I have been talking to them for a while."

The quarterback says that what really stands out about Northwestern is their head coach, Pat Fitzgerald.

"I like Coach Fitz a lot for his passion and how fired up he is about winning and his football team."

The junior was able to attend one of their games this season and enjoyed it; however, if the Wildcats want to land the talented QB, it'll be an uphill battle.

"I visited for their game against Penn State. However, I don't really have a lot of interest in them."

So, which schools are currently Zaire's top choices?

"Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama and Vanderbilt."

And speaking of his hometown Buckeyes, Zaire believes that the hire of Urban Meyer is the perfect thing to put Ohio State back on top.

"I think Coach Meyer is going to be great for the Ohio State program, great for Braxton Miller and the Ohio State offense and great for the Ohio State community overall."
