Comments - Lake Orion's Will Johnson has become one of the most sought after prospects in the Midwest after the May Evaluation period.
Lake Orion has three prospects that will sign D-1 letters of intent come February and Johnson could be the cream of the crop.
"Before the May Evaluation period, looking at the Lake Orion kids, I'd say it was (Roger) Allison, (Trent) Varva and (Will) Johnson in that order," said one college recruiter.
"After the May Evaluation period, Johnson is definitely the #1 guy at Lake Orion. He's a solid 280-pounds, no fat on him at all. He (Johnson) can run for his size and he's strong. We see him being an anchor on the defensive line."
Johnson has plenty of scholarship offers.
"Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue, Northwestern, Indiana, Boston College and Ohio State have all offered me a scholarship," said Will Johnson.
"All the schools that have offered me a scholarship also called in May. Michigan called me as well but they haven't offered me yet.
"My favorites right now are Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Ohio State and Purdue."
Johnson will be a two-year varsity starter in 2003. He played offensive tackle and defensive end in 2002. He's being recruited as defensive tackle by most schools but he'll also be getting looked at as an offensive lineman.
Johnson finished his junior season with 97 tackles and 11 sacks. Those numbers were good enough to earn Will all-area and all-conference honors.
Will Johnson will camp at Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State and Purdue this summer.
