Odenigbo Ready For Commitment

Centerville (Ohio) High four-star offensive tackle Ifeadi Odenigbo is down to Notre Dame, Northwestern and Stanford, and he will make his decision Saturday. He gave some final thoughts to IrishEyes.com about the process, and each school.

A bit tired from a week at the Under Armour All-American Game but happy about the end of the recruiting process, Ifeadi Odenigbo will make his college announcement Saturday at 1 p.m. The Centerville (Ohio) High four-star outside linebacker will decide during a ceremony at his house with his finalists being Northwestern, Notre Dame and Stanford.

"I'm announcing my decision at 1 p.m. at my house," Odenigbo said. "I'm having a small group of people and my local media is coming.

"All are perfect fits."

Odenigbo, a 6-foot-4, 220-pounder who is ranked No. 4 at his position, gave a quick thought about each of his finalists.

"Stanford, obviously the most prestigious out of the three," Odenigbo said. "They have been recruiting me for a while and always had strong connections to the school."

Odenigbo plans to major in computer science, and said previously he liked the Silicon Valley area near Stanford.

However, Odenigbo added he is not indicating a favorite.

"Northwestern, out of the three schools …I think Northwestern plays the hardest," he said. "They are passionate and it comes from the coach. I have a good relationship with their linebacker coach."

As for Notre Dame, Odenigbo views the Catholicism as a major plus since he is catholic.

"You walk on the campus, and it is what they say, but I never understood until when I walked on campus and walked in and saw it," he said. "Seeing everything and talking to players seemed like a perfect fit."
