Comments - A prospect that flew completely under the radar during the May Evaluation period is Winnetka (Ill.) New Trier linebacker Jack D'Angelo.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder, started the first five games last year at middle linebacker for the Trevians before having a season ending shoulder injury.
D'Angelo looked extremely impressive at the (Ann Arbor) Nike Camp in all the drills and ran a 4.78 40-yard dash during testing.
We loved what we saw on film of D'Angelo. He plays with a lot of emotion and makes plays. Not having much junior exposure definitely makes 2003 a big year for D'Angelo as several college recruiters will be looking at senior film.
Despite not having his name out there this spring, there were still some schools that were in contact.
"Vanderbilt, Duke and a bunch of Ivy League schools called me in May," said Jack D'Angelo.
"I don't have any offers yet. My favorites are Duke, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana and Bowling Green.
"I'm going to Duke this weekend for a visit. I'm also going to Northwestern and Illinois for one-day camps. I want to run a 40-yard dash and show the coaches that I can move.
"I'm completely open right now. I'll talk to every school that's interested in me."
