And though a number of programs have shown interest throughout this past season, one Big 10 school came by today with good news.
"(Northwestern) coach Pat Fitzgerald came by today. He watched some film on Macan," Kinkaid coach Stephen Hill said. "He (Fitzgerald) watched Macan work out today too and he told me, ‘that's who I want. He's at the top of my list.' He's offered."
So now the 6-foot, 185-pound Wilson has his first offer, but knows it will not be the last. Hill estimates that Wilson will indeed be one of the more highly recruited players in the Houston area for his class.
Aside from the offer from Northwestern that happened today, Wilson has Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Arkansas and West Virginia also recruiting him. For most of the 2011 season, Wilson led all receivers (all classes) in nearly all of the receiving categories.
Wilson finished with 78 catches for over 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns.
