NU recruiting coordinator Matt MacPherson made a stop at West Mesquite High School during his recent trip to the Lone Star State, and spoke with Massington's coaches.
"My coaches were talking about how I move and my size and everything," Massington said of MacPherson's conversation with West Mesquite coaches.
Massington is still learning about the Wildcats, but is enticed by their pass-heavy spread offense. He hopes to make an early impact at the next level, and is looking for a few specific factors from the right school.
"The type of style they play," Massington said. "Do they go deep? Do they like big, tall, fast receivers?"
During his junior season, Massington accumulated 663 receiving yards and six touchdowns, all while battling through a toe injury. He averaged 17.7 yards per reception during the campaign.
Massington is hoping he will receive further interest from Northwestern, and would make the Wildcats one of his favorites if an offer were to come.
"I would take them into consideration," said Massington. "I would put them on the top of my list."
Massington is also intrigued by Northwestern's strong academic reputation. He currently carries a 3.3 grade point average.
