The Archbishop Alter (OH) HS product has been hearing from Northwestern, Illinois, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Nebraska, Michigan State and Notre Dame. In addition to the Fighting Illini and Bearcats, he thinks the Wildcats could extend an offer soon.
"I think they're close, from way they've talked to me the past few weeks and through the recruiting process. We'll see what happens when I go to visit," he said. "I went up there when they played Penn State this year and they seem to have a lot of interest in me."
Hart will be visiting NU on March 10, one day after a trip to Illinois. He said he looks forward to meeting with linebackers coach Randy Bates, who he has been talking with regularly on the phone, and seeing the campus after seeing a lot of the athletics facilities on his visit during the Penn State game.
"I'm just looking forward to seeing campus because when we went there for the game we didn't get to see the campus and what it was," he said. "We stayed more in the football facilities. I'm looking forward to maybe talking to players who play there now."
Hart enjoyed his last trip to NU, especially seeing the gameday atmosphere, and he spoke highly of its strong academic reputation.
"I thought it was real cool," he said. "The stadium was small, but I like the location of it, I like it a lot. I like using football to get a great education and obviously Northwestern is one of the best educations you can get."
In addition to his future visits to NU and Illinois, and a possible one to Cincinnati, Hart has been to Indiana and went to Kentucky for a camp over the summer. He has also seen games this year at Cincinnati, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
"I went up to Indiana a few weeks ago," he said. "I really liked Indiana; it's a nice place."
With more offers likely to come in and his recruitment starting to heat up, Hart said he doesn't have a favorite school or a timetable for his decision. He said he plans to take the process slow.
"I'm looking for the right fit," he said. "I'm not going to rush anything. I'm open to everything right now."
