"I was just offered by Michigan, and I'm very excited by it," Conley stated Thursday evening. "I'm a Michigan fan, and I've always watched their games. My head coach is up at Michigan right now, and he told me of the offer and had me call their coach. I was very surprised by the offer, but very happy about it."
"My first offer was two weeks ago, from Northwestern," he added. "That was a surprise also, but it means a lot to me because it was my first offer. Those are really the only two schools I've heard from, and I'm very excited about both schools."
Conley, 6-foot-1, 165-pounds, is an excellent athlete for the Tigers, combining good speed with impressive hip recovery. He shined as a junior, although hampered by a wrist injury.
"I think my best asset is my speed and quickness, and I'm a good overall athlete," he explained. "I need to work on getting stronger, and I'm in the weight room working hard. My injury is fully healed and I'm ready to go. I'm hoping to play offense next year also."
EVALUATION: A fine basketball player as well, Conley has the skill set to succeed at the next level. Although not blessed with great size, he has shown the willingness to come up and hit in run support. His best strength would be his coverage ability, and his speed. Very similar player to Canton McKinley's Jermaine Edmondson, who signed with Michigan State.
