"That's another thing that's drawing me to the school, there's a lot of good food around there," the lineman joked.
North has managed to build a strong relationship with Cushing, and is looking forward to meeting with him during the visit.
"He's a great guy," said North of Cushing. "I really like his coaching style. He's just a phenominal guy, seems to know what he's doing. I think very highly of him. He's the kind of guy I'd like to go play for everyday."
NU stands out to North for a number of reasons, but most importantly for its strong academic prestige. Cushing has sold that during their recruiting conversations.
"It sounds like a great school, a heck of an education," said North. "That's what I'm looking for in the right school. Northwestern ranks very high amongst the colleges for me. (Cushing) speaks very highly of them."
North is looking for a variety of factors in the ideal school, but namely a quality education -- a reason why he sees Northwestern in high regards.
"The top thing on my list is education; that's really important for me," he said. "I know football's not going to last forever. I need a good education; the econonmy is tough right now."
North is planning on taking all of his visits during the summer, then expects to make a decision either before or after his senior season, in order to stay focused on just football.
