Trubisky Looking Elsewhere

Mentor, Ohio four-star quarterback Mitch Trubisky is getting close to narrowing his list of schools, but is counting out Northwestern for now. He talks recruiting in this PurpleWildcats.com recruiting update.

Four-star quarterback Mitch Trubisky was receiving strong interest from Northwestern. Then Matthew Alviti gave his verbal commitment to the Wildcats, and they began to back off their pursuit.

NU still has scholarship offers out to several quarterbacks, though hopes to land a dual-threat prospect. Trubisky has noticed drop in interest from the Wildcat coaches.

"If they contact my coach again and say they're interested, maybe I'll consider them," said Trubisky. "For now, I'm looking elsewhere."

Trubisky, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback, holds offers from Northwestern, Alabama, Cincinnati, Michigan State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and others. He has yet to name a favorite.

"It's really a confusing process, I'm still evaluiting," Trubisky said. "I like all the schools who are showing interest in me."

Trubisky is getting close to narrowing his list of schools. He is hoping to find the perfect fit from the right school.

"I just want to feel like a place is home," said Trubisky. "Where my family can watch me play, and the academics are great so I can get a great degree."

This May, Trubisky is planning a number of visits, and hopes to make a decision this summer.

"I'm going to try to get out and think about it," he said. "If I'm ready (to commit) in June, I will. If not, I'll wait for whenever I'm ready."
