Northwestern will host Maryland in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, with the contest set for November 27th at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Northwestern will take on the Maryland Terrapins in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, meeting at Welsh-Ryan Arena on November 27th.

The Wildcats are 6-7 overall in ACC/Big Ten matchups, including four consecutive wins. NU defeated Georgia Tech in the past two Challenge meetings.

NU and Maryland last met in 1958 at McGaw Hall, a 66-62 Wildcat win. This will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools.

The Terrapins struggled last season, posting a 17-15 overall record, including a 6-10 mark in conference play. Nick Faust, a rising sophomore, is the team's top returning scorer from last season, though he averaged just 8.9 points per game.

Northwestern returns four regular starters from last season, though loses its top scorer, John Shurna. The Wildcats will be boosted by incoming transfer Jared Swopshire, plus three incoming freshmen signees.

The ACC/Big Ten Challenge is highlighted by matchups between North Carolina and Indiana, played on Nov. 27, and Ohio State and Duke on Nov. 28. Game times and television designations have yet to be announced.
