On June 22, Beaugard will attend the Chicagoland Showcase camp, which is hosted by Northwestern, where he hopes to prove worth of an offer.
"It's really important because all of those colleges are there, you can get many offers that day," Beaugard said of the upcoming camp.
Thus far, Beaugard, a 6-foot-3, 235-pounder, has received interest from Northwestern, Illinois, Illinois State, Minnesota, and most recently, Wyoming. Beaugard has received interest from NU, though has yet to visit campus.
Beaugard is looking forward to learning more about Northwestern, but already has a good grasp on the program.
"I like what they're doing with their football program, Beaugard said of Northwestern. "Also, I liked how Coach Fitzgerald signed a long contract, so he's going to be there for a very long time, and their coaching staff is going to be stable."
Growing up in Lombard, near Chicago, Beaugard has always hoped to play Big Ten football. A number of factors make that intriguing.
"It has been a lifelong dream to go to the Big Ten," said Beaugard. "I'll have my family, friends and the people I know the best who are able to watch me a lot. Since it's the Big Ten, it's a very competitive conference. I'll be getting good football."
Northwestern carries strong appeal for Beaguard, among many reasons, because it's in the Big Ten. He hopes to earn an offer from the Wildcats in camp.
"If I can get an offer from Northwestern, they will be one of the front-runners in my decision of picking schools," he said. "It's close to home and the education is great, plus the football is great, so it's a win-win situation."
