Times, television set for two NU games

Northwestern announced the kickoff times for two of its September nonconference contests, including the season-opener against Syracuse.

Northwestern and Syracuse will be among the first teams to kick off the 2012 season. The two schools will meet at noon ET in the Carrier Dome. That game will air on ESPN2.

Two weeks later, the Wildcats will start their game at 2:30 CT with the team they faced in 2011 season-opener, the Boston College Golden Eagles. That game can be seen on the Big Ten Network.

Six of Northwestern's 2012 contests are now set. The Wildcats will host Vanderbilt for a primetime matchup, and will meet with Penn State, Minnesota and Iowa at 11 CT.

NU, which finished 6-7 last season, will host seven games at Ryan Field this season.
