Wilson is a Wildcat

There is one more player off the board for the class of 2013 -- Houston-area receiver Macan WIlson made his commitment to play for the Northwestern Wildcats. Read on to find out what went into his final decision.

Texas receiver Macan Wilson is off the market for the class of 2013 – He's finally verbally committed.

"I just called Coach [Pat] Fitzgerald last night and let him know I'm committed."

The 6-foot, 185-pound receiver was offered by Northwestern back in January, and has taken a number of visits since then. It was actually a visit to California a few days ago that made his mind up for good.

"Cal was the other option I was considering," Wilson said, "and it didn't quite give me the same feeling of comfort Northwestern did."

Since the offer in January, Wilson had the opportunity to visit campus a number of times and said he really felt a connection with the guys on the team and Coach Fitz.

"I got a chance to talk with Coach Fitz in person and he's exactly the type of person I want to play for."

Combine that with the fact that Wilson has family in the Chicago area, and it was a done deal.

"It felt like a weight was lifted off of me after the call," he said. "A lot of pressure is taken off, knowing where I'm going. I'm really excited to just get up there and get started."
