Four of those walk-ons are from the Chicagoland area, while three are from the state of California. The other two are from Ohio and Texas, respectively.
"Our program has a great history of walk-ons making significant contributions both on and off the field and expect the same from these nine young men," Fitzgerald said in a statement. "This year in particular we had more interest from potential walk-ons than at any time in the program's history and we know that everyone in this group will be a great fit for our football family. We look forward to welcoming them to Evanston for the start of camp."
