Vitabile named to Rimington Watch List

Northwestern sophomore center Brandon Vitabile was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List, which honors the nation's top centers.

Northwestern center Brandon Vitabile has just one year of experience under his belt, but he has caught the eyes of the Rimington Trophy committee.

Vitabile was named to the Rimington Trophy Fall Watch list, one of 51 centers given the preseason honor.

Rimington, a second-year starter, is one of six Big Ten centers named to the list. This also marks the fourth consecutive year a Wildcat center has earned such preseason honor. Ben Burkett, who moved to guard last season to accompany Vitabile, was a three-year member of the Rimington preseason list.

The Rimington Trophy is awarded to the nation's top center as selected by the AFCA, Walter Camp Foundation, Sporting News and the FWAA.
