Billings preparing for a decision

Four-star defensive tackle Andrew Billings is gearing up for a verbal commitment. With more than 20 scholarship offers on the table, that won't be an easy task. FOX Sports NEXT updates where the talented pass rusher stands.

With his senior season set to start, four-star defensive tackle Andrew Billings is preparing for a verbal commitment. That won't be easy to do.

Billings, a 6-foot-1, 300-pounder, is looking to make his final evaluation of each school.

"If I were to commit today, I couldn't make a decision," said Billings, expressing the difficulty of picking a school. "That's where I'm at right now."

At the moment, Billings' favorites include Baylor, Mississippi State, SMU, and Texas, but he is still considering each offer, too.

In total, Billings has more than 20 offers including those from Arizona State, Colorado, Minnesota, Missouri, Northwestern, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and others.

Billings admitted that Northwestern also remains in the mix of school which he is considering.

"They're still in there," he said of the Wildcats, citing the school's academics as his reason of interest.

Billings has turned to his father and football coaches for guidance in the decision-making process. Their advice is simple yet helpful.

"They say to slow down and take my time," Billings said.

If Billings does indeed take his time, he'll have his five official visits to help paint a clearer picture. Stay with FOX Sports NEXT for further coverage of Andrew Billings' recruitment.
