"Because when we went there, it was the summer and there weren't people on campus," said Hytchye. "I enjoyed the coaches but the players were gone. ... I want to get a feel for the players there."
Hytchye, a three-star cornerback from La Salle (OH) High School, has narrowed his double-digit list of offers to three schools: Arizona State, Northwestern, and Pittsburgh. He also plans on visiting Tempe and Pittsburgh, too.
When Hytche was last on Northwestern's campus, he visited with another Cincinnati standout, three-star product Keith Watkins, who was uncommitted at the time. He gave the Wildcats his verbal shortly after.
Watkins is now working to recruit his good friend to join him at Northwestern.
"I'm proud of him and I'm happy for him," Hytchye said of Watkins. "I told him [Northwestern] was one of my strong candidates and he already mentioned it would be cool; [NU coaches] already said we can be roommates together. He kind of knows it's my decision, still, but he's pulling for me to come there so we can do some great things at Northwestern.
Hytchye has yet to set official visits for the upcoming season, but plans to arrange those around his schedule's convenience.
One of the most important things Hytchye hopes to do on each campus is make connections with the coaches, players, and students.
"The people make the place," he said. "I wouldn't be where I am right now if I didn't believe in the people at La Salle. I believe, in college, that the people make the place, too."
Hytchye projects his decision will come toward the end of September or even into October. What will be the difference-maker for the talented defensive back?
"I really don't know," Hytchye said. "I think that will speak for itself when I got to each campus."
