Where NU stands with the class of 2013

National Signing Day is fast approaching, believe it or not, and Northwestern still has several scholarships available for its 2013 recruiting class. Several of the Wildcats' top targets are mulling their decisions. Which prospects will become Wildcats? PurpleWildcats offers a look at each Northwestern target and where they stand.

It was in early August when Northwestern received its seventeenth verbal commitment, coming from three-star safety Godwin Igwebuike. Since then, the class hasn't added or lost a member.

Northwestern coaches continue to scour the country in search of talent in the senior class, but have mainly turned their attention to the class of 2014, now. Meanwhile, several key prospects are still mulling their decisions.

The Wildcats find themselves sitting pretty with several top targets in the class of 2013. PurpleWildcats gives a look at each Northwestern prospect and where they stand.

Name: James Clark
Rating, Position: 3-Star Receiver
Hometown: New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
Northwestern's Odds: Medium

Known as one of the fastest prospects in the entire state of Florida —the speed state—James Clark has received a lot of recruiting attention, coming from all across the country. Northwestern continues to stay in the hunt for Clark, led by Coach Marty Long. NU has a shot for the talented three-star receiver.

Name: Patrick Enewally
Rating, Position: 3-Star receiver, cornerback
Hometown: Cerritos, Calif.
Northwestern's Odds: Low

Patrick Enewally is a draw to numerous schools because of his natural talents and versatility. The two-way standout has received plenty of recruiting interest to this point, including from Northwestern. Enewally is taking his time with a decision, but Northwestern has remained in the mix.

Name: Ray Davison
Rating, Position: 3-Star Linebacker
Hometown: Encino, Calif.
Northwestern's Odds: Medium

The Wildcats have made three-star linebacker Ray Davison one of their priorities in the class of 2013. The standout senior has received plenty of interest from the West Coast; NU is looking to steal him to the Midwest. As long as 'Cat coaches keep knocking on Davison's door, they have a chance to land his services.

Name:Austin Hooper
Rating, Position: 3-Star Defensive End
Hometown: Concord, Calif
Northwestern's Odds: Medium

Whichever school lands three-star defensive end Austin Hooper is getting an absolute steal. Hooper holds well over double-digit offers, but is looking for a school with the right mix of football and academics, meaning you can't rule out Northwestern.

Name: Jaleel Hytchye
Rating, Position: 3-Star Cornerback
Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio
Northwestern's Odds: High

Northwestern may be close to landing three-star cornerback Jaleel Hytchye, something which has been months in the makings; the only hurdle is getting him back to campus for one more visit. Hytchye was hoping to visit for the Nebraska game, but those plans fell apart. He is also exploring Arizona State, Cincinnati, Kentucky, and Pittsburgh. A visit to Evanston could seal the deal.

Name: Taijuan Thomas
Rating, Position: 2-Star Receiver
Hometown: Monroe, La.
Northwestern's Odds: High

It comes down to just two schools for Taijuan Thomas—Northwestern or Stanford. Since the summer, the speedster has pointed to the Wildcats and Cardinal as his two favorites. The next step for Thomas is to take official visits on each campus, where he hopes to experience each school's game atmosphere—likely the deciding factor in his commitment.
