Thomas sets NU official visit

Monroe, La. receiver Taijuan Thomas has been waiting for the opportunity to take official visits before offering his verbal commitment. He has finally set a date for a trip to Northwestern and is arranging plans for a trip to Palo Alto, Calif. PurpleWildcats offers an update on the standout receiver.

Taijuan Thomas has long been evaluating his two favorites, Northwestern and Stanford. The next step has been to take official visits. The Monroe, La. native has made plans for campus tours.

Thomas, a two-star receiver, will visit Northwestern on the weekend of December 14—his second stop in Evanston. A visit to Palo Alto, Calif. has not been set, but is still in his plans.

"I just want to go [to Northwestern] again and meet some of the players—do that again," said Thomas.

And, with a return to the West Coast, Thomas said: "For Stanford, I've met like one of their players, but I haven't been able to meet the guys like I did at Northwestern."

Thomas received a scholarship offer from Northwestern over the summer, and also took his only visit to campus then, too. He maintains weekly contact with his lead recruiters, Dennis Springer and Randy Bates, plus head coach Pat Fitzgerald.

Once Thomas takes his official visits, a decision is expected to follow shortly after. However, it won't be an easy process.

"It's very hard because there's not much difference between [Northwestern and Stanford], except for where they're located," Thomas said. "That makes it very hard. Either choice I make is a good, not only for football, but after I graduate."
