Igwebuike elevated to four-star status

Northwestern verbal commitment Godwin Igwebuike was elevated to four-star status by the Scout.com Midwest Recruiting Team.

Northwestern's recruiting class looks a little bit stronger.

Safety commitment Godwin Igwebuike was elevated to four-star status, joining quarterback Matt Alviti as four-star prospects in Northwestern's 2013 class.

The Scout.com ratings are not final, with All-Star games still to be played throughout January. If such a status holds up, Igwebuike will be the sixth four-star prospect Pat Fitzgerald has recruited to Northwestern.

"Godwin Igwebuike is very physical, he's not afraid to come up and hit you, and it'll be interesting to see where his future is," Scout.com Analyst Dave Berk said. "I think he's a safety, but he can also be a running back. He could be a dominant physical presence at safety."

Northwestern's 2013 recruiting class currently stands at 20 members, while the coaches currently wait for final decisions. One recruit still on the board is four-star receiver James Clark, who visited Evanston in January.
