Out of Contention

The three-star point guard from Gill St. Bernard's chose Seton Hall, officially spurning Northwestern.

The saga's over.

Former 2013 point guard commit Jaren Sina opted for Seton Hall Wednesday, giving the Pirates a verbal commitment and officially cutting ties with Northwestern.

One of the most touted recruits in program history, the Gill St. Bernard's (N.J.) product reopened his commitment last month after Bill Carmody was fired. Despite being released from his letter of intent, Sina met with new head coach Chris Collins and had Northwestern in his final list Tuesday— along with Seton Hall and Indiana.

Now, he joins former Carmody staffer Fred Hill—who was pivotal to his recruitment last year. The Cats will play rising junior Dave Sobolewski at the one-guard again next year. This does leave room for 2014 point-guard recruits, including Marcus Bartley, who received a Northwestern offer last Thursday.
