Solomon Vault Commits to Northwestern

Running back Solomon Vault of Gaithersburg (Md.) became the fifth member of the Northwestern 2014 class. There's a lot to be excited for.

Solomon Vault excitedly tweeted on Thursday morning that he gave his verbal to Northwestern.

The running back from Gaithersburg (Md.) visited the Wildcats last weekend, and was sold on the NU program. Another impressive athlete, Vault could move to the slot for his college career.

Vault watched his recruitment pick up steam in recent weeks. Nebraska offered on Wednesday, and some of his other offers included Purdue, Minnesota and Tennessee.

This recruiting class — because of the 19 members in 2013 — is expected to be on the smaller side. The five-year program, which liberally utilizes redshirt seasons, can only accommodate so many players. But there's a lot to be excited for already.

NU locked down some versatile athletes such as Clayton Thorson, Jordan Thomas and Cameron Queiro. They continued to add depth up front with last week's addition of three-star tackle Ben Oxley.
