Hardy leaving NU for Georgetown

Tavaras Hardy has accepted a job at Georgetown, PurpleWildcats.com has confirmed through sources close to the situation.

After seven seasons on the Northwestern basketball coaching staff, assistant coach Tavaras Hardy is leaving the Wildcats for a position with Georgetown, as first reported by CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman.

Purple Wildcats' Nick Medline confirmed the news with sources familiar with the situation.

Hardy played for Northwestern from 1998 to 2002 and joined the coaching staff under Bill Carmody in 2006. He had served as Carmody's associate head coach before the former coach's firing earlier this year.

Hardy was officially retained by Chris Collins as an assistant coach early in April.
