Report: JerShon Cobb out indefinitely

A Chicago Tribune report surfaced Saturday that JerShon Cobb (foot) is out indefinitely.

The Chicago Tribune reported before Saturday's game against Indiana that Jershon Cobb injured his foot and will be out indefinitely. Stephen Bardo of Big Ten Network later added he will miss the rest of the season.

The junior guard suffered the injury during the loss to Ohio State, Northwestern's fourth straight defeat after an excellent start to conference play. Now, without Cobb, NU will face an almost impossible battle moving forward.

Cobb has been a revelation this season, scoring 12.2 points and adding 4.8 rebounds as the Wildcats' undisputed second best player. He's overcome past injuries (hip) and looked fully healthy for the first time in his career.

Maligned point guard Dave Sobolewski will return to the starting lineup in Cobb's absence. Sobolewski was permanently benched, and has not scored since January 2nd. He's shooting 26 percent, and only 17 percent from behind the arc.
