C.J. Robbins Suspended One Game

The Northwestern defensive tackle will miss time for throwing a punch against NIU.

The Big Ten announced Tuesday that it will suspend C.J. Robbins for one game. Robbins threw a punch at an opposing lineman during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss to Northern Illinois.

“He’s a disciplined man, and it got away from him today,” Pat Fitzgerald said in a postgame press conference. “It’s just one of those days.”

Robbins will miss the Wildcats’ contest against Western Illinois on Sept. 20. Northwestern has a bye this week.

Without Robbins, NU will likely start Chance Carter and Greg Kuhar in the middle of the defensive line.
