Cats Garner 3 POW awards

The Wildcats scored a double hit last weekend, as Volleyballer Erika Lange and Football Cornerback, turned Safety, Marvin Ward earned Player of the Week honors.

Lange also earned a national award...

It was a double award for the Wildcats and marks a couple of "firsts in a long time"
Senior Middle Blocker Erika Lange from Orland Park CA, earned two Player of the Week awards with her MVP play at the Chicago Challenge [the Cats won all 3 games].

Lange first won the Big 10 Volleyball Player of the Week, then word came that she had also won the Sports Imports/AVCA Div I National Player of the Week award too.

Earlier, Junior Cornerback, turned Safety, Marvin Ward of Landover MD, won the Big 10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his 17 tackle [11 solos], fumble recovery game against Air Force.

Ward was the 2nd NU footballer named POW, and first NU defensive player named player of the week this season. Its interesting that he's moved back to left cornerback for the Miami game.
Congrats Cats!
