[6-6, from Northern HS in Flint Michigan]
Only an honorable mention pick in his conference last year, he went on to show his talents at the Kenucky Hoopfest last summer averaging 22 points a game.Brandon Lee:
Originally a shooting guard, he grew to 6-6 over the summer and now is projected as a Small Forward for the Wildcats.
He's tagged as a "shooter" and as we all know Bill Carmody likes "shooters.
[6-1, 175, from Peoria High School]
He's a lefty, playing for one of the top High School programs around. He chose NU over Wyoming and Ball State. He also had interest from Western Illinois, Southern Illinois and Wisconsin-Green Bay.Both players are "stealth" type players who fit into the Bill Carmody recruiting pattern of looking for kids who can shoot and learn his system. As always, don't expect a big fanfare with the signings.
Last summer Chicago Hoops had this to say:
A quick, hard worker, Lee is a silent assassin that will get the job done, proceed off the court in a businesslike manor, and tuck the win quietly in his pocket. Lee averaged 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals a game this past year as a sophomore starter on Manual's varsity team. [Frank Rusnak - Chicago Hoops]So Brandon Lee appears to be more of defensive specialist, but he also plays point guard, and at 6-1 that's probably where he'd play in the Big 10.
I'd also expect him to be a big part of Peoria's continued domination of Illinois HS Basketball. Watch for Peoria to be a power again this year.
Beat 'em All!
