NU lost to Michigan State twice this year.Coach Roy's Purple Reign Categories:
Once in East Lansing - 73-61where Chris Hill [MSU Photo right] pumped in 16, but Maurice Ager [below left] came off the bench and bombed the Cats with 5 for 7 shooting including 3 from the arc for 14 points.
Then in Evanston 66-56. Where the Spartans made a big first half run,[the score was 42-25 MSU at the half] then settled in for the win. Again, the Cats had no answer for Ager's 24 points -- 6-6 from the arc -- or Chris Hill's 17.
You might say that the Cats were "in" both games but Hill and Ager just ate our defense up from 3 point land.
Of course there's 6-11 Sophomore Center Paul Davis [right] who dominates the middle - 7 boards against the Cats in Lansing, and 6 in Evanston. And don't forget the 29 points scored in both games.
Davis' presence inside is why you can't just concentrate on shutting down the two guards.
And Bill Carmody was jumpy before playing Penn State?
The Spartans do turn the ball over an average of 14 times a game -- they averaged just under that against us this year. The Cats had 13 steals in the two games, nothing like last night.
And one more thing - the present MSU Starting Lineup is 13-3 this year.

Challenges for the Wildcats
The game will be on TV & Radio:
- Shoot the $@!%# Ball
- Make some 3 pointers early to open up the defense.
- See the first challenge - someone besides Jitim has to step up and make that first 2 or three baskets.
- Don't let Davis take us out of our inside game
- And I guess we need to try to stop Ager and Hill
ESPN Local - WCIU in Chicago - Wayne Larrivee and Greg Kelser
WGN Radio and the Web with Dave Eanet and David Kaplan
- And WGN on the Internet
