Northwestern Lands Michigan Linebacker

With the first of several important recruiting weekends upon us, Northwestern has landed its second verbal commitment.

LB/DE Jim Devine 6-4 265 4.75 Jackson, MI (Lumen Christi)

Jim Devine is among the finest prospects in the state of Michigan. Devine's father played football at Notre Dame and was a member of the 1973 National Championship team.

Sources close to the Northwestern football program have confirmed that Jim Devine has given head coach, Randy Taylor and Northwestern University his verbal commitment.

Devine is a four-year varsity member and three-year starter. As a junior, he recorded 130 tackles and he made three interceptions. Those numbers were good enough to earn all area honors.
