Chicago's Tim McGarigle was being recruited by Penn State, Illinois and others. Today McGarigle committed to Northwestern.

"I committed to Northwestern today." McGarigle said. "It just felt right. I got along great with the players and the coaches.

I really clicked with my host (Greg Lutzen) and I just knew that Northwestern was the place for me.

Coach (Kevin) Wilson is recruiting me and he told me they wanted me as an outside linebacker.

McGarigle chose Northwestern over Illinois and Penn State. Tim visited Illinois last weekend and Penn State made an in home visit last week as well.

McGarigle is a three-year starter who broke his foot his junior year and missed most of the season.

Tim would have been more highly recruited if he hadn't been hurt. He had a very good senior season and will help Northwestern on the defensive side of the ball.
