3 prospects were expected to commit, two have reported so far:
QB Andrew Brewer - [6-2 195 4.50] - was expected to commit - he's had NU on the top of his list for a while. He's another athletic QB prospect.
OL/DL John Gill - [6-3 285 4.9] was originally considered a strong recruit for Oregon, but he cancelled out of his trip to come to NU this weekend. He's officially listed as an O-Lineman, but could play either side of the ball.
TE Chris Wootton [6-7 255 4.90] choose NU over Connecticut. Wootton is a big TE prospect who could also eventually play OT the way Trai Essex moved inside. Chris thinks he has the potential to be a Sunday player down the road.
DE Kenyon Brown [6-3 225 4.6] was also one of the players who was expected to seriously consider NU.
Chris will have more on all the commits later.
The Class of 2005 appears to continue to represent one of the best in the Randy Walker era. NU has several positions requiring additional players - and appear to have addressed some of the needs on the front lines [offense and defense], running back, quarterback and linebacker.
NU could probably still use another WR and D-Back from this class, although one of the hallmarks of Walker's recruiting classes is the signing of athletes who can change positions.
Two, maybe more?
