The Flames are Back on the NU Schedule

There's a report out in the Chicago Flame that University of Illinois CHicago expects to play the Wildcats this season.

Northwestern University has agreed to play the UIC Flames this coming season, according to a report in the University of Illinois - Chicago student newspaper, The Flame, today.

The Cats last played the Flames on the road on December 20th, 2003. Jitim Young scored 27, and Vedran Vukusic hit for 23, but the next 3 scoring leaders all had 5 points each, as the Flames' hot shooting led to a 90-71 Wildcat loss.

The Flames expect to be hot again this year. They've recent signed a junior college Point Guard Standout, D.J. Smedley, and also added a 6-11 Center transfer Scott VanderMeer who will not be eligible until 2006. the Flames averaged 70 Points a game last year, finishing 15-14, although they were 10-5 at home.

Location and date of the game hasn't been announced, but the last game was on the road, and you would expect the next one to be at Welsh-Ryan.

Northwestern hasn't announced its full schedule yet, but the Cats also have apparently committed to play in a tournament in Wyoming early in the season.
