Roundball Commit #2 - Kevin Coble

The big recruiting question at Northwestern has been, "Where are the big men?" Part of that question was answered Tuesday, with a commit by 6-8 forward Kevin Coble of Scottsdale, Arizona to NU Coach Bill Carmody.

There has been some concern about the future, but Bill Carmody and Northwestern went a long way Tuesday towards providing some answers...
NU coach Bill Carmody and his staff had begun recruiting Scottsdale [Ariz] Christian forward Kevin Coble when he was a freshman. Tuesday, Coble rewarded that early interest when he committed to Bill Carmody and Northwestern.

He committed after being listed as a "small forward to watch" following the Nike All-American Camp in Indianapolis.

Talking about Northwestern in the Arizona Republic, "It provides the best combination of solid academics and basketball," Coble said. "I feel like I really fit it. I enjoy the program."

Kevin Coble led his high school team to two Class 2A basketball titles. He's expected to sign his letter during the early signing period in November.

He was also recruited by Pepperdine, Santa Clara, Lehigh, Davidson, New Mexico and most of the Ivy League schools. He also might have gone to Arizona State had he expressed interest.
