Salvaging the Weekend for NU

NU Alum Luke Donald [shown chipping on Saturday] used a 3 under par final round to win the Honda Classic by 2 strokes Sunday. Donald finished ahead of Australia's Geoff Ogilvy, and Americans David Toms and Billy Mayfair at the PGA event held at the Country Club at Mirasol in Florida.

Donald started the weekend at even par
at -2, he double bogied 13 to finish down on the Leaderboard.

But he roared back with a -5, after a shakey start Friday. He was still at even par, when #13 again shook his game, then ignited it, as he birdied 6 holes and gained an Eagle on another.

Saturday again was a day for Birdies - he had 5, and finally got a par on 13. He finished at -4, 9 under for the tournament and tied for first place.

Sunday was a day for 5 more birdies as he also shook the jinx on 13 with the first of 3 on the final 9. His combined -12 was enough to take the top award.

Donald is not scheduled for next week's PGA event.
